Czech Society for Ornithology
We are members of the Czech Society for Ornithology, supporting both research and hands-on bird conservation — from common garden species to the rare wetland birds that visit our reservoir.

We actively support the protection of animals and their natural habitats — at home in South Moravia and thousands of kilometres away.

Why we do it
The Včelínek stream flows naturally through the zoological garden, and a reservoir in the northern part shelters waterfowl, fish, amphibians and bankside plants.
For us the landscape doesn't stop at the fences of the enclosures: living water gives the park an ecological value that reaches far beyond the zoo itself. That's why we treat nature as a partner and take part in programmes that help it elsewhere in the world too.
From bird research in South Moravia to crocodile rescue in Cambodia — here are the programmes we take part in.

Membership
We belong to Sacalia, an international tortoise and turtle association connecting keepers and conservationists worldwide. Together we help endangered tortoise species so they don't quietly vanish from the planet.
Rescue programme
Through the Conservation of Cambodian Crocodiles Program we help the critically endangered Siamese crocodile directly in Cambodia. We are also members of the Czech Association for the Breeding and Conservation of Crocodiles, which has long supported this species.
Education
Together with the Czech Union for Nature Conservation (ČSOP) we develop environmental education for young and old visitors alike. We believe conservation begins with understanding — whoever understands nature protects it.
Every visit supports rescue programmes and the everyday care of animals and the landscape around them. And if you'd like to help even more, adopt your favourite animal from afar.
