Why the black-and-white ruffed lemur?
One of the largest living lemurs, with a head and body of about 43-57 cm plus a bushy tail of 60-65 cm, and a weight of roughly 2.6-4.1 kg. Its striking black-and-white coat, dog-like muzzle and prominent ruff of fur around the neck make it unmistakable, and males and females look alike.
Groups keep in touch with tremendously loud roaring and shrieking choruses that carry through the forest, making it one of the noisiest of all lemurs. It is also listed as Critically Endangered.
How adoption works

- 3We'll keep sending you updates and photos of your animal.
- 4For the Patron and Benefactor tiers we'll arrange a visit and experiences with you.
The adoption is symbolic — the animal stays in the care of the zoo. It also makes a great gift: in the note at checkout, tell us who the certificate should be made out to. More information at info@zoosedlec.cz.
