Why the spectacled owl?
They grow to approximately 46 cm and weigh approximately 850 g. They have very distinctive coloration, being mostly black-brown with a yellow-brown belly and a striking white pattern on their face that looks strikingly like spectacles.
The males call out with a peculiar voice that resembles the tapping of a hammer on a dry branch. The voice of the female is a shrill scream.
How adoption works

- 3We'll keep sending you updates and photos of your animal.
- 4For the Patron and Benefactor tiers we'll arrange a visit and experiences with you.
The adoption is symbolic — the animal stays in the care of the zoo. It also makes a great gift: in the note at checkout, tell us who the certificate should be made out to. More information at info@zoosedlec.cz.
