Why the snowy owl?
It is a massive owl almost the size of a great owl. Their body length is 53-65 cm. The weight of males varies between 700 and 2500 g, and females between 780 and 2950 g. Males have only a few scattered dark spots on their white plumage, while females have more extensive dark flecks.
They can endure starvation for up to 40 days, whereby their fat pad under their feathers decreases by 2 cm (they save energy by staying almost completely motionless).
How adoption works

- 2You'll receive a confirmation by e-mail and the adoption certificate within 14 days.
- 3We'll keep sending you updates and photos of your animal.
- 4For the Patron and Benefactor tiers we'll arrange a visit and experiences with you.
The adoption is symbolic — the animal stays in the care of the zoo. It also makes a great gift: in the note at checkout, tell us who the certificate should be made out to. More information at info@zoosedlec.cz.
