- Description
- They grow to 76–86 cm and weigh 900–1300 g. Therefore, they belong to the larger macaw species. They are very distinctly colored.
- Habitat
- They are found in tropical forests over a large area of South America, ranging from Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela to the south to Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, and Paraguay.
- Diet
- They feed on seeds and fruits.
- Reproduction
- They lay between two and three eggs, which they brood for 28 days.
- Lifespan
- Approximately 50-80 years
